Hey Fellas, and Lady Fellas, It is time to talk about the very real nightmare that is coming about rapidly. Of course I am talking about your awesome E-Board not having much time left on their college careers. Colin McGinnis Adam Sicklick Shannon Kelly Kacey Looney and myself, over the past two years have worked to make sure Quidditch has always had everything its needed to make you all happy. And while it would be relatively easy for us to gear up and do it again next year, we have decided that unless we absolutely have to none of us will run for any position. We are doing this so that next year will be a real transitioning of the old people out, and once again UMass Quidditch when be lead by different faces. We have also unanimously decided to hold elections in the upcoming weeks. We have a a two week lull after tomorrows game with Providence Ashwinders until Regionals where we are not actually doing much. Yes we will still have practice but as the days get shorter, and people are dealing with assignments, projects, and tests, we undoubtedly lose people until the spring. This always happens, and we except it will happen again. We are also holding elections early this year so whoever takes over can get a real feel for what its like to have to plan for World Cup, arguably the most time consuming job of any Board member. We also are doing it this way because if we work with the newcomers while we are still in office, we can be much more hands off next year, and allow whoever is in charge to do things the way they want. Obviously it is going to be a lot of work, sometimes you are going to wanna rip your hair out... just ask Colin :D. But it is worth it they are all very fulfilling jobs, and after we are gone for good it is your job to keep Quidditch afloat. Finally i would recommend upcoming seniors not to run, just because it would be easier, and more beneficial for the future of Quidditch to get some youngblood in here. Nonetheless, anyone is welcome to run. If you are interested in running please contact the person who is currently in the position you would like to run for, this person will answer all your questions about what the job entails and will be your mentor until they graduate. The positions are as followed: 1. President---------Thomas Walsh 2. Vice President-------- Shannon Kelly 3. Treasurer--------- Colin McGinnis 4. Secretary--------- Adam Sicklick 5. Flex Spot--------- Kacey Looney. While Kacey did not actually hold a position on the board he stepped up in multiple ways and really filled in the holes. Without him a lot of what we have done would not have been possible, so feel free to ask him about any of the jobs in additional to contacting the person in that position now. He will know what he is talking about. Again we are trying to get the new people in ASAP so I would like to have nominees by the 8th and elections the week before Regionals. That gives you a week to decide if you wanna run which should be enough time. If it turns out that we do not get enough nominees by the 8th of course we can push it back. Finally if we get no responses to a position we will harass people we think would be more than qualified for the job. Conversely if you think someone else would make a good fit at any position feel free to nominate them by the same process. Lastly I want to thank you all for electing me your leader. It has been my privilege to serve you all, and I would not take it back for the world. P.S. Captains will not be decided until the end of the year, and anyone should feel free to nominate themselves or someone else when the time comes. P.S.S. You know this post is really important when I actually go back and proofread it :D
