Hey Friends I know it’s been a while since you’ve heard - TopicsExpress

Hey Friends I know it’s been a while since you’ve heard from me but the chemotherapy following my brain tumour operation and radiation treatment has knocked me around more than I expected. Thank you all so much for your continued support during my recuperation. The chemo is really slowing me down at the moment, It feels like having massive chronic fatigue syndrome, so unfortunately not much gets done in the way of blogging. And so Deb isn’t getting very much from me. She’s doing the best she can with very little information, so it’s not her fault if news seems slow. I know some of you have already been down this weary path and have sent me supportive emails and I appreciate that very much. Please don’t think that, just because I haven’t been online for some time it means I don’t care about being in contact with you. I am grateful for your support. To those of you who’d like to hear how I’m going, here’s my situation right now. The good news is that my treatment so far has apparently been successful and subsequent MRI scans show no return of the cancer to the original tumour site, which is great. However my form of cancer is known to be aggressive statistically, so it’s impossible to say that I am totally “cured”. It is for this reason I haven’t gone on public forums to say I’ve beaten it, because there seems no way of being sure that the cancer is permanently gone. It’s like saying “We’ve stopped the wind from blowing” when we can’t say for sure it won’t blow again. As part of my recovery plan, I’ve just spent the last three weeks in Sydney’s Lady Davidson physical rehabilitation Hospital, rebuilding my core strength through gym work and hydrotherapy. The hydro pool is great. On a different front from my medical news, I am very excited about being invited to be a part of the upcoming RocKwiz Vanda & Young Special tour. In addition to its usual rock frivolity it is focusing on the songs of Vanda & Young – two of Australia’s best known songwriters/producers and performers, being Harry Vanda and George Young of “The Easybeats” and “Flash and the Pan”. Significantly for me, they also signed The Angels to the Alberts’ music label and produced the first three Angels’ albums; so I’m very honoured to have been asked to be part of this RocKwiz special. I’ll try to keep you all up-to-date about what’s going on for me, from time to time, but it’s not always easy or pleasant talking about this horrible illness. I hope you all can understand that. If anyone out there wants to catch me in any of these live RocKwiz shows the details are: Wednesday December 4 Thebarton, Adelaide Friday December 6 Enmore Theatre, Sydney Sunday December 8 Palais Theatre, Melbourne These shows will feature some of Australia’s top music artists. I hope you enjoy them. Best Wishes Doc E=MC2
