Hey all who challenged me to the Ice bucket jumping off the cliff. :-) (Well said Mike btw) Charles and I give quite a bit of money to charities. Charles prefers MIFA. Me, of course, animal charities and rescues, kiva and environmental causes. This is why I have problems with this. ALS research involves lots of animal testing--involving beagles having holes drilled in their heads plus other not so great things. I realize that while some animal testing is necessary much of it is completely useless. Animals are not humans but they do feel pain and suffering. So much of the testing can be done with human volunteers, tissue models a and computer models. Instead Ill write a check to breastcancer.org In honor of a few friends I have battling this disease right now. This organization has the humane seal of approval humaneseal.org It promotes health care charities that limit animal testing.
