Hey everybody, I got accepted into Cal and UCLA and am trying to decide between the two. I am a Los Angeles native and I think it would be interesting to change my surroundings and live in the bay area except Im not sure if I will entirely fit in at Berkeley. A little background information about myself: I am very musical and attend concerts frequently (primarily hip hop but my music tastes range from Jazz to R&B to Classic Rock) I skate, and I am the only one of my friends academically motivated enough to actually go to college. Because of this I am not very accustomed to being surrounded by very motivated people, something I am looking forward too. Despite my appreciation of being surrounded by very motivated people it is also a double edged sword. Academics and motivation are great and all but I also enjoy the company of people that dont take things too seriously. I know that at UCLA I will definitely be able to meet like-minded people because I have spent a lot of time there and have met some cool people but I know absolutely nothing about people at Berkeley except from those in this group. The main differences that I have noticed between the UCLA and UCB class of 2018 pages are that people have a lot more light-hearted conversations and joke around a lot more in the UCLA class of 2018 page while the Cal class of 2018 page seems to be a little more serious. Because of this Im not sure that I would totally fit in at Berkeley, can anyone help me out with this? Thanks
