Hey everyone. I get many questions about the things I grow, raise, or make from scratch. Does it save me money? Is it worth the effort? Am I crazy? The answer is yes, yes, and yes! I make a lot of things from scratch. Its become my way of life and I dont even notice it anymore until someone points it out to me. I compiled a list because I was curious to see how many things I DONT buy anymore from the grocery store. Now, some of these things I dont always have on hand...for example we dont always raise a pig or a cow, but then I just sub deer meat instead ect. And yes, sometimes I dont want to cook and I order Caseys pizza like any other person. Ok here is the list, its long and Im guessing I forgot some stuff...... On another note, I do not sleep much. Hahahaha :) Milk Eggs Bread ( or anything bread-like bagels, cinn rolls, ect ) Tomatoes Beans ( green, black, pinto ) Carrots Peppers Pickles Soups (tomato, chicken noodle, ect ) Spinach, kale, ( leafy greens ) Ketchup Ranch dressing Chicken Turkey Duck Beef ( unless needed for something specific) Pork Broth Applesauce Pears Blueberries Noodles ( I do still keep some on hand from store, but very easy to make your own ) Potatoes Corn Popcorn Chocolate syrup Carmel syrup Cookies Cakes Laundry detergent Udder wash Spaghetti sauce Crackers ( graham, goldfish, wheat thins ) Pizza Pizza sauce Onions ( expect this year...I gave mine to someone who could really use them ) Watermelon ( seasonal ) Squash ( seasonal ) Peas Celery Mac n cheese Spaghettios ( so good from scratch ) :) Iced mocha ( take that Starbucks lol ) I do have to buy the coffee though haha Beets Cilantro Basil Oregano Chammomile tea Mint Ice cream ( pretty much any flavor) Vanilla extract Mint extract Stevia Also, yogurt, cheese, and soap from goats milk will be my next adventures :)
