Met Office Information Bulletin Date: Sunday 09th of June 2013 ISSUED AT:05:09PM MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL AND THUNDERSHOWER ACTIVITY EXPECTED OVERNIGHT Trinidad and Tobago are currently experiencing few cloudy periods with accompanying rain and showers. Based on analyses and other available data, the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is agreeing with Model outputs of deteriorating weather conditions, particularly over Trinidad, overnight into early morning. Intermittent rain and showers some of which would be moderate to heavy, and at times thundery, are therefore anticipated. The rainfall activity is as a result of the passage of a Tropical Wave. Rainfall accumulations are forecast to be between 20 to 25 millimeters. Noting the amount of rainfall that is forecast to occur, the possibility of moderate to severe cases of localized street and flash flooding is likely in the vicinity of prolonged rainfall or heavy downpours. Gusty winds in excess of 45 km/hr at times are also possible. Citizens are advised to be vigilant and cautious given stated forecast conditions. WE WISH TO UNDERSCORE THAT AT THIS TIME TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM THREAT, WATCH OR WARNING. The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is closely monitoring this weather situation and will issue another bulletin if the situation warrants.
