Hey everyone :) I hope your week is going great. Fun Run is in full swing, Book Fair is next month, lots of fundraising and many things in the works to make this school year enjoyable for all. I hope to see a lot of you at Fun Run or at the Book Fair and Harvest Fest. I am just excited about what this year will bring and I and I just want to put this out there. I am very involved inside of the school. Between Bookfairs (3 a year-and they consume the entire year on my end), All for Books (raising money to help kids in our own school to be able to buy a book at a bookfair when they would not be able to do so otherwise), Being on Parent Club, Volunteering, and much more...I have become aware of the amazing people that surround OUR kids on a daily basis. These people dont know that an outsider is walking down the hallway while the door to the class is open. This momma can hear a glimpse of the teachers hearts as they are teaching our children and it makes me smile each time. While going about doing things it is nice to hear our kids learning and hearing and seeing the teachers teach the kids. They take teaching to a different level and dont just stop with textbooks. They CARE. Even when I over hear a child being corrected it is still in a caring fashion. This amazing group of teachers is something I have never seen before. I for one am THANKFUL for each of them. I have NEVER seen a principal care so much about each and every child in the school. He remembers little things about them, things that make the kids feel special. He goes above and beyond and spends time with them, in the classroom, on the play ground, in the lunch room and in the halls. And let me tell you, if you have a child with special needs in ANY area, HE IS AMAZING with them. Nothing seems to bother him, everything is taken in stride and they all love him. The Secretary is someone that gets the short end of the stick all the way around. She is who you get mad at because a note was misplaced or didnt make it home, she is who gets the mad phone calls because someone is unhappy for one reason or another, someone dont understand the lunch program, or dont like it period. She is the FALL GUY. Not on purpose but she is on the front lines. What people dont usually get to see is the hugs, and tears, and giggles. She cleans and bandages the booboos, gives ice, takes temps, gives meds, loans money, gives snacks, reassures, loves and gives them a loving hard time when its needed. The kids LOVE her. She is a ball of energy that bounces all around the office. She does 30 jobs at once. She is the reason the school runs so smoothly. She makes adorable announcements over the PA, she stands with the kids while they stand there and say the Pledge, she gets the trash can when your little one is going to puke and the tissues to wipe the tears while they get a band aide for the owie. Truly and amazing woman. The Para Pros are amazing with all the kids, we are lucky to have them. I have been able to do even more then just volunteer in the past 3 years because not only do I get to be a part of my kids daily lives I also get to be a part of most of your kids days too. I love having them say hello, I love the smiles and waves. The point of this is to say that I appreciate and value all of your kids but even more then that, the staff that interacts with the kids is something I have never seen before. Each teacher pours so much of themselves into each and every one of the kids. They go above and beyond in every area that I have been able to see. Our teachers, Principal, Secretary, Para Pros, Custodians, Lunch Ladies, Watch Dogs and everyone else are AMAZING. They need to hear THAT more often from ALL OF US. We are fortunate to have what we do in them.
