Hey, everyone! In preparation for our recital in Mendocino on Sunday, November 23rd, I have a number of couple of shows coming up in the next week or two with The Town Quartet!!! Our ambitious program for this concert series will be Franz Xaver Richters 4th quartet in E-flat major (written in 1757, one of the earliest quartets ever composed), Dmitri Shostakovichs eerie, violent, angry, and beautiful 5th quartet in B-flat major (written in 1952) and Leoš Janáčeks passionate, manic and operatic treatise on obsessive love, his 2nd quartet Intimate Letters (written in 1928). We will be playing at The Musical Offering Cafe Bistro this Sunday (the 16th) at 1:00pm. Kitchen 388 in downtown Oakland on Grand Ave on Monday evening (the 17th) starting at 6:30pm. A Groupmuse in the Mission on Wednesday evening (the 19th) (check the Groupmuse website for details) at 7:00pm. And our recital in Mendocino on Sunday, the 23rd.
