Hey everyone, So after the overwhelming response I got to my post last week about finally receiving Kalydeco (thank you all), I had a lot of people messaging me asking to be updated on my progress, so though I would post it here for those of you that are interested. The first week has left me with quite bad sinus headaches and during airway clearance there is a lot of stuff coming up and clearing from my sinuses, its all very pluggy looking and that nasty colour when your on the brink of an infection. I hear this is quite common for the first few weeks or so, heres hoping its just doing its job and getting rid of all the crap on my chest! My tummy has settled down well the past week, prior to the past week I was either blocked up for days or quite the opposite (you all know what I mean 😝) there was no in between, things are back on track which is a GREAT bonus. I am sceptical that this may not be the Kalydeco as I have transitioned back to creon 10,000 after switching to 25,000 a few months ago, ever since starting the 25,000 things were never quite right with my tummy.....who knows which one it is, time will tell Im sure. Exercise - as someone who goes to the gym regularly and enjoys weight lifting mostly (boo cardio) I was keen to see the changes it had on my performance whilst working out. I gave in and did an interval training cardio session this week on the bike and my rpm was up quite a bit, I was also able to stretch out my high intensity intervals to 2 minutes compared to my previous weeks effort where I could only do 1 minute intervals, will try keep up with 3 cardio sessions a week to see how the progress goes there. All positive so far! Weight - I havent even bothered weighing myself, Ill leave this up to clinc appointments, however other than when I was younger Ive never had many issues with being underweight, Im 5ft3 and 52kg, so Im in good proportion and as a young female Im definitely not keen on piling on the pounds where I dont need it. Kalydeco has to be taken with high fat foods for maximum absorption so examples of foods Ive been having it with are: Some Brazil nuts and a small amount of cheese Protein shake with full fat milk Yoghurt and berries Tuna in olive oil And of course at dinner where there are always the most calories I eat quite healthily in general so Im trying to stick to that in order to not put on too much weight.
