Hey friends, have you heard of AB 955? It encourages the privatization of our community colleges by installing a discriminatory two-tier tuition system. Students are expected to carry the burden of generating more revenue for schools by paying five times the amount for classes. It passed last year and started implementation at LBCC this winter session. This is a big deal! LBCC is the first school in the state to pilot this system. We need to shut this down at the roots and keep higher education affordable for all! Im working on a campaign in Long Beach to elect Sunny Zia for LBCC Trustee, District 3. Sunny is committed to eliminating the two-tier tuition system, to balancing the budget, and to finding better ways to generate revenue.
