Hey hey, kids- its been a minute since I issued yall a challenge and BOY OH BOY, have I gots one for yas today!! You ready? Here goes... My friend, Jerry Irelands Dad and Cathy Abernathy-Stephens husband, 1st Sgt. Joseph D. Stephens (Retired), is at Piedmont Hospital (Atlanta) in surgery RIGHT NOW along with his donor, Jenni Pare. She is having her kidney removed and they will transplant it immediately to Sgt. Stephens. With this life-saving transplant, Sgt. Stephens will be required to make frequent trips to Piedmont Hospital. Which wouldnt be a big deal, but....he lives in Savannah, GA. This Go Fund Me account was set up by his daughter, Angie Merchant, to collect money to cover for the frequent travel expenses coming up. Now...yall KNOW I dont vouch for anybody/anything unless I am 100% about it. I am 152% about this family. So...heres your challenge...If I treated this like a party, I would be inviting 1,419 of you to it. Half of you will confirm and say youre attending, so thats 709 friends. Half of those will actually show up- 354. Out of the 1,419 friends I have on Facebook, I challenge all of you, but I am hoping 354 of you will donate $5. $5 and 5 minutes of your time. $5 isnt a fast food meal, barely a cup of Starbucks coffee, a little more than a magazine, etc.- but your $5 would make a HUGE difference for Sgt. Stephens and family as they trek back and forth from Savannah to Atlanta on the regular within the coming year. Ive already put my money where my mouth is and donated $25 this morning- what say you? $5 and 5? Wanna watch a little life-changing, feel-good, multitudes of karma-juju action social experiment unfold? Get it in on it, yo! And if you cant give financially- send a prayer and/or good vibes up for Sgt. Stephens and Mz. Pare for excellent recoveries and safe travels. Thats just as good, too.
