Hey people, Just want to throw this out to you and your friends... We are now looking for short horror story submissions for Cumbrian Cthulhu Volumes 5-7. I have included some text below as an introduction to the project. Please feel free to copy and send to anyone you know you would like to be published! Cheers. lulu/spotlight/CumbrianCthulhu I started this project in 2009 by writing one H.P. Lovecraft mythos story set in the UK Cumbrian Lake District, I made a blog, called it ‘Cumbrian Cthulhu’ and was soon joined by an illustrator and other new writers. In 2012 we had enough stories collected to publish-on-demand our first anthology book, which we did through lulu. We decided to donate all sale profits to ‘The Lake District Search And Mountain Rescue Association - Ldsamra.’ Now in 2014 we have published four volumes of Cumbrian Cthulhu stories as well as two other accompanying books. We handed over a cheque for £600 last year and hope to donate more at the end of this year. We will also be releasing our first hardback ‘Complete short stories from Vols 1-4’ in December. Over the next two years I will be collecting the new stories for Cumbrian Cthulhu Volumes 5-7. If you want in, just send me something relevant and your story will be illustrated and published. Organising this is my hobby, it doesn’t cost me much, but we do need the content! Since we are all new / emerging writers, there is no judging of your submissions. As far as I am concerned, if it fits the criteria of ‘Cumbrian Cthulhu’ and you as the author are happy with its final form, it will usually be published. We have yet to have the situation where someone tries to cynically exploit this openness, but I’m sure it will happen one day lol. So basically, the goals of the project are: To encourage and publish new writers and artists, hopefully providing a small step towards starting writing / illustration careers. To generate profit from the books and donate it to Mountain Rescue charities in the UK. I understand that non-UK writers may be unfamiliar with our Lake District, but there is plenty of Wiki info and also references to named places can be very basic. A lake is a lake, forests and hill descriptions need not be geographically specific. We have American writers and Polish artists who have never visited the UK. So, if you could fancy writing any new short horror stories based in Cumbria, or if you have any existing short horrors that could be adapted to fit the criteria, please email me at cumbrian.cthulhu@gmail
