Hi - I just found out about this board. I am in Merrick and my daughter is in 9th grade. I asked her guidance counselor and her teacher about her opting out of the math regents because she has had difficulties in the past and this is causing her extreme anxiety. they both agreed with me. I just heard a message on my answering machine from the chair person from the math department that she cannot opt out in high school because it is part of her final grade and she cannot graduate without it. Does anyone know if this is true or am I being strong-armed? Thanks in advance for any info.
