Hi Ben and members. Thanks for approving my request to join. I actually stumbled on the group while reading something from another poster elsewhere and being a bit of a collector, placer miner and photographer I was intrigued immediately by the shots of so many finds, etc. I noted too in your promo of the group that you overlooked mentioning Cottonwood (where Ive lived since 1970) so I thought you might need someone from the local community. :-) I recognize a few names of locals and Im pretty amazed at some of the scores folks are still finding in the area. Amazing really. Heres a photo of a bottle I dug up in Stanley back in 1970. Im assuming it must have been a wine or champagne bottle. It stands 121/2 tall and while the photo doesnt capture it has a faint mauve colour to the glass. No names or lettering or symbols at all on it so I dont know how one might ascertain its age.
