I dislike the modern feminist movement with a great passion because they tend to contradict their own movement. The original feminists wanted equality for women; they did not want extra rights for women, nor to take rights away from men. In the eyes of a growing number of people, modern feminism has taken the banner of equality, and used it as a smokescreen for radical activities. If feminism was about equality, then feminists would not want more rights than men, because equal rights implies that both men and women have equivalent rights. However feminism in practice is not always about equality because it often ignores the rights of men. Also, the view of the male population in the feminist view of the world is a depressingly pessimistic one. Often, feminists will make generalizing comments regarding men, such as men are only after one thing or all men want a woman for is to cook, clean, and look at. While there are certainly men who fit that description, they certainly do not represent the entire male population. The view of those feminists who choose to be radically outspoken and vocal about their flawed worldview is that men are the weaker vessel, and as such should be reduced to wage-earning, bread-making workers, with no real power over the decisions made in the world. A common sentiment of the feminist movement is that if they ruled the world, there would no longer be poverty, homelessness, hunger, or wars. None of these things is accurate. Our modern worlds growing issues with world hunger, poverty and homelessness are the result of a rapidly growing society without the necessary resources to competently accommodate those in bad situations. The homeless are not homeless because of the men in power, nor are they homeless because nobody is fighting for them. If a woman was in power in every sovereign nation on Earth, there would still be homeless people, because there would still be a shortage of the necessary resources to accommodate them.
