Hi Everyone! I hope all of you will take the time to read this post to the end. The main purpose is to ask you to sponsor me for a 50 mile walk I am doing this January that will benefit Acres of Love, an organization whose purpose is to save the lives of children abandoned or orphaned as a result of the AIDS pandemic in Johannesburg, South Africa. PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A $1.00 TO $5.00 ON LINE DONATION TODAY. I WOULD BE SO EXCITED TO MAKE MY GOAL OF $1000.00 ONE DOLLAR AT A TIME! THAT WOULD MEAN THAT 1000 PEOPLE ARE INVOLVED IN THIS GREAT CAUSE. IN THE PAST, THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES THAT I DID NOT CONTRIBUTE TO A WORTHY CAUSE BEACAUSE I WAS EMBARRASSED TO CONTRIBUTE LESS THAN $20.00.....SO, THIS IS WHY I AM REQUESTING $1.00 TO $5.00 DONATIONS!!! YOU CAN SPONSOR MY WALK AT acresoflove.webconnex/walk. (ALL DONATIONS GO TO ACRES OF LOVE. I AM PAYING FOR MY EXPENSES OF THE WALK) On January 29th, 2014, I will begin a two day, 50 mile walk to raise awareness for Acres of Love and raise funds to specifically support Acres’ Safari Sisters and Siyabonga Forever Homes. Launched in 2011, WALK FOR THE CHILDREN has become an annual event. Learning more about the plight of orphans in South Africa has led me to act. Babies thrown out with the trash, infants and toddlers abandoned in open fields, some left crying and alone on the side of the road, preemies abandoned in hospitals with no one to touch their tiny hand or stand by their incubator while they fight for life: these have been the beginnings of some of the children Acres of Love has been privileged to welcome into forever families. Today, over 250 children are living happier, healthier lives in Acres of Love Forever Homes because someone saw the value of a child’s life and chose to act. As a result of what I have learned, I am now helping to support the cost of caring for 16 children, ages one to 16 years old, living in the Safari Sisters and Siyabonga Forever Homes. Some of them are HIV positive; others have special needs. As you are well aware, raising children, especially sick children, can be expensive… even in Africa. So I am asking you, my friends and family, to consider joining me in this effort. Donations to Acres of Love are tax deductible*. If you would like to learn more about Acres of Love, visit acresoflove.org or safarisisters.org. Please use your credit card to donate online, a page has been set up at acresoflove.webconnex/walk * Acres of Love is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit. Their tax ID number is available upon request. Thank s to all of you who took the time to read this post!!!!
