Hi Everyone! I just want to extend an invite to those of you interested in journeying the Hieros Gamos journey this Fall / Winter starting Sept 21st, (the Fall Equinox known in Tantra as the Black Wedding). Heres an excerpt from my next book, Creating Sacred Union in Partnerships which explains a bit about it: Ishtar’s symbol was the eight pointed star, as she embodied one who danced in union with the seasonal stargates, as a pathway to awaken her Divine potential, that being her true stellar nature. ‘Star’ is also the meaning of her name. She is the feminine aspect who, when unveiled, anchors our stellar nature, enabling us to activate the eighth chakra, known as the Godhead. One can only open this stargate when they ascend to remember their true Soul self, after surviving a descent to unveil their shadow at each of the seven gates (chakras). This understanding was key to making the commitment to be an initiate of the Hieros Gamos. As an inherent part of the journey was one’s willingness to descend to face their most rejected and denied aspects. A process, which was catalyzed by the lessening solar light over the course of Autumn / Winter, accelerating one’s inner dance with the shadow. Only through embracing these disowned traits, could one heal and find enough self-acceptance to experience both giving and receiving love in union. Her priestesses would therefore prepare for Sacred Union with their Beloved by willingly descending each Autumn / Winter to unveil more of their shadow aspects to become wise. This is why the High Priestess would perform the, ‘Dance of the 7 Veils’ with her graduating priestesses, (those who had performed the series of initiations 7 times) as part of a public demonstration upon their return at the Spring Equinox.
