Hi Everyone On the 27th of September we commemorate The Elevation of The Holy Cross ( Krstovden). At our Church of St Nikola Holy Liturgy was held where the faithful partook in the Holy Gifts of Christ. With Love in Christ Church of Nikola Holy Cross (The Elevation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross) 27 / 09 / 2014 (Please see in Macedonian below) On this day we celebrate two events associated with the Precious Cross: first, the discovery of the Holy Cross at Golgotha, and secondly, the return of the Holy Cross to Jerusalem from Persia. Visiting the Holy Land St.. Empress Helena decided to search for the Precious Cross of Christ. An old Jewish man named Judah was the only one who knew where the Cross was. Forced by the Queen, he said that the Cross was buried under the temple of Venus, which was built on Golgotha by the Emperor Hadrian. Empress Helena ordered this idolatrous temple to be demolished, then digging deep under the temple they found three crosses. While the Empress pondered how to recognize The Cross of Christ, nearby was a procession of a dead person . Patriarch Macarius said the crosses were to be place one by one on the dead man. When they placed the third cross on the dead man, he rose from the dead. By this they knew that this was the Cross of Christ, the honest and life-giving Cross. Then the Cross was placed on a sick woman, and she recovered. The Patriarch lifted The Cross , so all the people could see it, and the people sang with tears, Lord have mercy! Empress Helena made a silver box and placed in it the Precious Cross. Later, when Emperor Chozroes conquered Jerusalem, he enslaved so many people and he took the Lords Cross to Persia. The Cross was in Persia for fourteen years. In 628, the Greek Emperor Heraclius defeated Chozroes and with glory restored the Cross in Jerusalem. Entering the city Emperor Heraclius carried the Cross on his shoulders. But suddenly he could not take another step. Patriarch Zacharias saw an Angel that was stopping the Emperor to continue walking with the Lords Cross the way he was dressed up in a Kings robes. The Angel would not allow the Emperor to go under the Cross along the way where the Lord had walked barefoot and humiliated. This vision The Patriarch announced to the King. The emperor removed his shoes and barefoot in poor mans clothing took the Cross to Golgotha and he placed the Cross in the Church of the Resurrection, making joy and comfort to the whole Christian world. Source: mpc.org.mk Крстовден (Воздвижение на Чесниот Крст) На овој ден се празнуваат два настани поврзани со Чесниот Крст: прво, пронаоѓањето на Чесниот Крст на Голгота, и второ, враќањето на Чесниот Крст од Персија во Ерусалим. Обиколувајќи ја Светата Земја Св. царица Елена намисли да го побара Чесниот Крст на Христос. Некој старец Евреин, по име Јуда, единствен знаеше за местото каде што се наоѓаше Крстот, па принуден од царицата изјави дека Крстот е закопан под храмот на Венера, којшто на Голгота го подигна царот Адријан. Царицата нареди и го разурнаа оној идолски храм, па копајќи во длабочина најдоа три крста. Додека царицата беше во недоумение како да го распознае Христовиот Крст, покрај местото поминуваше поворка со мртовец. Тогаш патријархот Макариј рече да ги полагаат крстовите редум врз мртовецот. А кога го ставија врз него третиот крст, покојникот оживе. По тоа познаа дека е тоа вистинскиот Христов крст, чесен и животворен. Потоа го положија врз една болна жена и жената оздраве. Тогаш патријархот го крена крстот за да го види сиот народ, а народот со солзи пееше: „Господи помилуј!“ Царицата Елена направи ковчег од сребро и го положи во него Чесниот Крст. Подоцна, кога царот Хозрој го зазеде Ерусалим, многумина ги одведе во ропство, а Крстот Господов го однесе во Персија. Во Персија Крстот лежеше четиринаесет години. Во 628 година грчкиот цар Ираклиј го победи Хозрој и со слава го поврати Крстот во Ерусалим. Влегувајќи во градот царот Ираклиј го носеше Крстот на своите плеќи. Но одеднаш застана и не можеше да зачекори ни чекор. Патријархот Захариј виде ангел којшто му попречуваше на царот во раскошни облеки да оди под Крстот, по оној пат по којшто Господ одеше бос и понижен. Тоа видение патријархот му го објави на царот. Тогаш царот се слече, па босоног и во бедна облека го зеде Крстот, го изнесе на Голгота и го положи во храмот на Воскресението, на радост и за утеха на целиот христијански свет. Izvor: mpc.org.mk
