Hi Guys, I have two buns, Luke (age 9) & Lucia (age 8). Kept only indoors, very overly cautious, well educated bun mom here, feed them very small portion of Oxbow timothy pellets once a day, bountiful wet HRS approved greens twice a day, fresh water and hay replaced at least once a day. Kept in air conditioning wall to wall carpet and towels, free run, apt is bun proofed. Luke has a history of bladder sludge and I have taken him about 3 times in the last 18 months to get his bladder cleaned. Hes had full xrays, blood work, he has some minor stones but I watch him like a hawk for any issues. Lucia is very healthy. They both eat pee and poop normally and are extremely active even for older buns. I live alone and they are my WORLD. Saying all this up front so every knows I am a vigilant mom. I came home from work today and they greeted me as they always do, excited and eager for a treat. I feed treats very sparingly. I gave them one each and went on my night. When I went to clean litter box, I found this. See pic. Now, I know what rust colored pee looks like, but this looks like a red discharge. I am not sure if it is blood or not, so, I examined both buns head to toe and find NOTHING wrong. Looked at anal glands, genitals, paws, ears, mouth, everywhere for an injury and nothing. So I think this came from the bladder. I suspect Luke because he has had bladder sludge before. I searched their other litter boxes and chill spots and found nothing. Has anyone seen this before? Should I be concerned? Of course this would happen on a holiday weekend, but I do have a vet that is open tomorrow. Not their vet but a bun savvy vet should be on staff (usually is). Im trying to be nice and calm because there is no evidence anything is wrong but for this. I look every single day through their litter and poos. Yes, I have OCD. but I love them more than anything.
