Hi Guys Posted this because its beautiful and it reminds me of my youth in and around Stirling in the early 60,s. As a laddie my friend and I, Allan Ritchie used to cycle everywhere and were surprised when looking at an ordnance survey map that most of the place names on three sides of Stirling were and still are in Gaelic. In 1963 as a trainee bus conductor with Alexanders garage. (Bannockburn). Anyone remember the bus depot?. I was on the Callendar run when an old gentleman came on to the bus at Drumloist, a hamlet halfway between Doune and Callendar. He Spoke to me in Gaelic and laughed saying, ach son you wont know what I am saying. I am 84 years old and when I die so does the Gaelic in this village as I am the last native speaker. Sad isnt it, it was and still is our heritage and it is nearly gone
