Hi! I’m Goldie, and I wanted to tell you my story so that maybe you’ll decide to take me home. My last home really wasn’t very good. Not trying to blame anyone, but my person didn’t do a great job taking care of me and she let me get so covered in fleas that I was getting really sick. An officer came and told her that she had to take better care of me, but when she still didn’t the officer said he was taking me for my protection, and well, I’ve been here ever since. It’s been such a relief. Right away they gave me a bunch of medication, and almost immediately I stopped feeling like I was constantly be bitten. And within a few days, I was feeling stronger and much more like myself! The bad news, though, is that they found out that I have something called Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), aka Feline Aids. I had no idea that I have that, because I feel just great right now! But they tell me that FIV means that my immune system isnt as strong as the average cat’s and I can get sick from simple illnesses easier. While I can still live a normal life and even a normal life expectancy (and I plan to!), I need to go home with someone who will keep an eye on me and take me to the vet at the first sign I am sick. I am very outgoing and social, and I purr like a freight train (or so they tell me! I don’t know what a freight train is…). I love to be loved and enjoy sitting in your lap or cuddling in your arms. I adore belly rubs and head scratches and pretty much any other affection you want to give me. Well, I guess that’s about it. Thanks for listening, and I hope to meet you soon!
