Hi Naomi I was watching - TopicsExpress

Hi Naomi I was watching this: https://m.youtube/watch?v=IIKiLe7Lf70 I got to the point where you said, The way a society relates to the Vagina represents the way that society relates to women. I instantly remembered something and I would like to share it with you. Just prior to Christmas 2013, I was in Waterstones and I saw two books, which I thought would be great for my niece, Poppy. Poppy is into music and drama and so I thought these ancient myths, Homers Iliad and Odyssey and Dantes Divine Comedy would be great for Poppy because she would be almost bound to come across the stories in later life. The books were bound in such a way as to be excellent Christmas gifts, beautiful engraved covers, gilded pages et cetera. I purchased both volumes, the one containing both of Homers famous epic poems and the one containing the whole of Dantes divine comedy. Between buying the works and giving them to Poppy, I noticed the back cover of the Dante volume. The cover was a dark blood red and the rear of the cover showed the Gateway to Dantes Inferno, the Gateway to Hell. It had been fashioned so as to exactly replicate a Vagina. I almost wondered about giving the book to Poppy. In the end I telephoned her Father and asked him to counsel a Poppy not to be taken in by that particular piece of misogynist bullshit. I believe The Divine Comedy is a classic work of Literature and that, whatever ones view of Dantes religious beliefs (and as a chap who went to a Catholic School I dont think much of them). However, Dantes book is still a classic. Indeed, it is partly because I hate the Catholic Religion whose adherents attempted to indoctrinate me that I love the Divine Comedy so much. Dante was forever encountering dead Popes when Virgil lead him through Hell! But to come to the point, which I appear to be having more trouble doing, than I was having 53 minutes and 35 seconds into this: https://m.youtube/watch?v=LxxV-uV6jG8&feature=player_embedded I note that, to the cover designer of this otherwise fabulous volume of Dantes poetry, the idea that the Vagina is the Gateway to Hell was so ingrained, the said designer incorporated this concept into the design of the book cover. He appears to have done this without even thinking about what he was doing. Can you begin to see why I hate the Roman Catholic Church, this execrable dogma that was once forced down my throat, can you begin to see why I hate the Roman Catholic Church so very much? So why am I telling you this? I am telling you this to let you know that, if you want women to be treated with respect you must learn to systematically dismantle nearly 2000 years (I date the beginning of the RC church from the date of the council of Nicea) nearly 2000 years of execrable Roman Catholic propaganda. If I can aid that in anyway whatsoever, I would be more than delighted. I am resolved the Roman Catholic Church will one day regret that their minions ever attempted to indoctrinate me!
