Hi Zane, I have a question. I dated this guy on and off from when I was 14 till now...(Im 24)...!! So for about 10 yrs..!! My family hates him bc when we met he was 18 nd I was 14 nd he was my first!! Anyway so this last time we broke up about 7 yrs ago he went to prison for drug trafficking nd I moved away to live my life also bc he couldnt decide between me nd his babymother...!! I jus got out of a 5 yr relationship about 8 months ago nd we kind of picked back up where we left off nd he asked over the course of 6 months tht I send him money nd I agreed bc I loved him nd really wntd to help..!! Well over the course of those 6 months the amounts I sent him added up to about 2000 dollars!! I am so disappointed in myself bc during tht time I kinda of was lookin for him to be committed to a non committed relationship per say bc I was being committed all the way like sending money..!! Anyway to get to the point I lost my job nd stopped sending him money nd he stopped calling me(not that he called me a lot to begin with) nd I had his fb info nd went on there to see tht he has a gf!! I am do hurt. I just got a really great job paying me really great money but I plan on suing him for that 2000 especially since he promised to pay me back..!! I promise Im not being spiteful but someone told me I was nd I jus wntd to get another opinion..!! Thank you so much!! MY RESPONSE: Let it go. You did not have a contract-verbal or otherwise-for him to pay you that money back. You do not have a leg to stand on in court. First off, he is in jail (I presume) and he was in jail when you sent him the money. There was no way to expect him to be able to repay you. Trying to sue him will only prolong the tension in your life in regards to him. Millions of women and men have given others money because they cared for them and then found out that money could not buy love. At least you know the truth now. Learn from this and move on, and never commit to a man who has not proven himself to you.
