Hi all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank both - TopicsExpress

Hi all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Assistant Professor Chantal Bourgault du Coudray for her insightful and thought-provoking seminar presentation on feminist responses to the leadership of Julia Gillard and the possibilities of introducing a language and framework of care to female forms of leadership, as well as the academic staff and postgraduate students who came along to engage with Chantals work. Chantals seminar was the last seminar for the year and, after two and a half years, my last seminar as coordinator of the Gender, Media and Cultural Studies Series. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Assistant Professor Chantal Bourgault du Coudray, Associate Professor Rob Cover, Professor Alison Bartlett, Katrina Tap and Pam Bond from the CHE office, Steven de Haer and Kyra Clarke for their unwavering support over the last two and a half years. The series would not be what it is without your support. I would also like to thank everyone who has presented their work over this time; again, without people willing to present their work, there is no series. The series will of course be continuing next year; this time under the watchful eye of Theresa Miller. Theresa is a doctoral candidate whose research considers disability within the works of nineteenth-century author Dinah Mulock Craik, and has presented at the GMCS series several times. Theresa is a longtime friend of the series, and I have no doubt at all that under her charge the series will continue to go from strength to strength. Be sure to keep an eye out for her call for papers for next years series, which will be circulated mid-late January. It has been wonderful meeting so many fascinating people and hearing about the compelling and varied research that is being done across many disciplines, and I am grateful for all the opportunities that coordinating this seminar has allowed me. Thank you again for all your support, and I look forward to seeing the exciting presentations that get organised for next year.
