Hi everyone! I want to thank EVERYONE, EVERYONE for bringing awareness to ALS...I challenged Congressman Tim Ryan who has become a friend of mine since talking to him in DC. He took the challenge and donated to the ALSA. Getting diagnosed with a fatal disease changes a person. Things that would get me upset seem so inconsequential now, I feel its a waste of time to wallow in negativity. But this...what some people posted on Tim Ryans page because of me ? That (sorry for the word I am going to use) PISSED me off. I was so excited that he did it, and on his website a few people were bashing him for doing it...so now I feel guilty. I dont understand when a public figure does something good, whether its a politician or celebrity the need to trash them...before the ice bucket phenomenon, NOONE talked about ALS... WHY? Because we die so fast, no one invests in it, as a matter of fact last year I think prevention of teen pregnancy got more funding. There arent enough of us that have it to be an issue, so yeah the ice bucket challenge is quirky but it worked. People are talking about it...there is now an interest there to get a cure. And honestly, it truly shows the goodness of humanity. There have been people on BOTH sides of the aisle Dem and Rep. who have done this challenge and I commend them ALL! ALS doesnt care what political party you are! It is a human issue not a political one! Okay...so basically to the people who are so narrow-minded and cynical and cant enjoy something positive sweeping the nation to help people who are going to DIE, I pity you. I pity you because you are taking your life for granted swallowed in so much hatred that you are never happy. I thank God for every minute I have left, I pray that you never get this disease or have a loved one afflicted with it, watching my family and friends struggle because of me is the worst kind of pain... So how about lets enjoy something great going on in social media and...LIGHTEN UP! To my friends... please like and comment Tim Ryan s page! Thanks!!
