Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I felt like I could relax - TopicsExpress

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I felt like I could relax a little and spend some time on the computer. My focus has been almost entirely on sick kids and a toxic house and there just hasn’t been time or bandwidth to post any updates. My apologies. While life isn’t anywhere close to normal yet, all three of the kids are out of the hospital and are sooooo much better. They’re well on their way to a full recovery and I sincerely thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers. It’s a wonderful thing to watch outcomes that you’re praying for come true rapidly in front of your eyes. The house looks like it’s going to be deemed “free of bad spirits” early next week and the EPA performed what I hope will be their last air sampling this morning. Results are being sent off to testing labs for final approval so everyone keep your fingers crossed. The testing teams feel like it’s really just a formality and that the house is fine but the forms must be obeyed. I’m really touched (that’s man-talk for highly emotional and holding back tears) at how many people have stepped up to help the family out. We’ve received such generous donations (thank you all so much I have no words to express my gratitude!) to help keep us afloat and help replace lost appliances and clothing. We’ve received donations of goods and furniture. Friends and loved ones have researched and given advice, stepped in and found places for us to stay in, and contractors to help with rebuilding. Family members have practically lived their holiday hours at the hospital. The doctors and nurses at Dell Children’s have been amazing and made the worst situation imaginable almost bearable with their around-the-clock care. The EPA and Hazmat teams, both state and Federal, have been such an unbelievable help my words of thanks can’t do justice to. And so many people showed up lending their strength and hands to help recover so much I counted as lost. And so much emotional support and understanding! And all my neighbors stepping in and doing laundry for us and filling us with food and cookies! And my boss and Polycom (best medical insurance package imaginable!) being so understanding about the time off I required! The list goes on and on and on and I’m terrified I’ll leave someone out. I’m just floored. Thank you all so much!
