Hi everyone! Time for another update :) Once again, thank you to everyone who has been supporting me and my husband over the past Month. Your kindness, generosity and healing has been really appreciated. My husband still has a long road ahead of him but a little each day we get closer to finding him the right medications and therapies. I have to say that the Mental Health System here in the USA is appalling, actually its disgusting and I learnt that most of the homeless in the USA have mental health issues!!! This is how they treat the most vulnerable in society? Its been a huge slap in the face to discover this is true. Health insurance costs are outrageous here. Many people like us dont even have insurance so when an accident or trauma happens we get screwed for big bucks by the healthcare system. The best the state has to offer my husband is testing new medications on him and talk therapy for one hour every two weeks! He tried to take his life over a Month ago and this is their big plan to get him back to health? He has already waited 45 days to talk to someone and now he has to wait another two weeks before he gets to speak again? I get that the system is overwhelmed but seriously? This is it? You can find all that money for war but nothing for the mentally ill? Infact, I learnt that over the last 10 years all the US government has done is cut back funding for mental health patients. WoW! What a low level of consciousness this nation has, it never stops surprising me!!! Makes England look like heaven! Over the last few weeks it has made me think about all of the those people who dont have kindness, generosity or healing around them, all the people who are mentally ill with no support at all who really do want to get well and I feel that I cant turn my back on this now that I know what these people are having to go through alone. There just arent enough advocates for these precious human beings. Today, a thought popped into my head and it was very definite about setting up a website for people who are in crisis and need to talk. We would provide spiritual counselling and guidance to anyone who needs a light. It would be donation only if you can and only for what you can afford. I would find volunteers who are able to offer spiritual counseling and life coaching to donate their time and skills so that we can give these people someone to talk to. I could arrange webnairs for groups and offer 1-2-1 skype conversations. I would need to do much more research into what is legal for me to do and what resources I could use as back up.
