Hi families! Dress rehearsals went great yesterday! We just have a few reminders for tomorrows shows. 1) Hair MUST be slicked back in a bun. We had a lot of hair that was just pulled back. Remember: *part on the left, centered above the left eye. About 3-4 inch part. *slick hair down, and pull into a low pony tail. GLUE with gel and LOTS of hair spray. The hair should feel stiff. *Form your bun with or without a donut. If you have flyaways, use a hair net. LOTS of bobby pins. GLUE HAIR WITH MORE HAIRSPRAY THAN YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE. If the dancer shakes their head and it feels loose, you need MORE bobby pins and more hair spray. 2) MORE MAKEUP *younger dancers need black eye liner on the top lid. Layer black eye shadow over this eye liner. They need heavier blush on their cheek bones. MUST HAVE RED LIPSTICK...not pink. Dont forget the mascara :) *Older dancers need full stage make up. You need black eye liner, black and white eye shadow, darker blush and RED LIPS. * NOT HAVING THE PROPER MAKE UP CAUSES FACES TO DISAPPEAR ONSTAGE. Stage lights are bright, you must have heavy make up on to see the facial features on stage properly. 3) NO UNDERWEAR *a few dancers came backstage with underwear on. We will make them take them off and throw them away. They will show onstage, even if the costume is pants. Underwear lines have no place onstage. 4) NO GUM *the cpac provides us with a gorgeous, but EXPENSIVE floor. gum will ruin it. gum is a choking hazard. gum does not allow you to have proper smiles etc. 5) NO FINGER NAIL OR TOE NAIL POLISH 6) NO JEWERLY UNLESS IT IS A PART OF THE ROUTINE. 7) If you routine has a hair piece, this must be BOBBY PINNED INTO THE HEAD. 8) no hair ties on your wrists. 9) IF YOU ARE IN BOTH SHOWS, YOU NEED TO FIX YOUR HAIR AND MAKE UP BETWEEN THE SHOWS. Competitive dancers, your hair CAN NOT fall out onstage. You MUST put attention into your appearance between the shows. 10) Just a reminder, during the recitals, please only exit and enter the auditorium BETWEEN numbers. 11) Students may not enter the auditorium until AFTER they have finished performing. They can not be in costume. They MUST have something covering the costumes up. 12) ABSOLUTELY NO VIDEO OR PHOTOGRAPHY DURING THE SHOW. If you have questions for us, please ask!
