Hi folks, a lot of you have messaged me or talked to me today - TopicsExpress

Hi folks, a lot of you have messaged me or talked to me today about the front page of the Newcastle Herald and the story on Stockton beach. I would just like to say that the environment is very important and the wider 4wd community that are 4wd clubs and members do abide by the NSW and ACT code of conduct and ethics and strive to look after the environment. Im all for looking after local aboriginal culture and heritage, it is important to look after the bush and the beach, we need it. On the downside there is always a minority that stuff it up for everyone by leaving rubbish and broken beer bottles behind at old camp sites. This really cooks my egg, I have a family with 3 kids.... i still manage to clean up my mess when we go camping! More times than often we come home with more rubbish than what we left home with in the first place. To those of you who do this kind of behaviour just think about this for a minute, remember that camp you went on with all your mates and got really drunk and left your rubbish behind. It was a really good night, but forget about doing that again because of people like you that part of the bush now has a locked gate across the track so you wont be able to go back there ever again. The better population of 4wd owners that have been taught how to drive their vehicles properly by attending driver training courses are being punished by these people for neglecting the environment and not looking after it. I was a member of a very reputable 4wd club, I attended monthly meetings, I attended quite a few track maintence days to help stop tracks eroding, Ive cleaned up stockton beach, I have helped drag burntout stolen cars from bush tracks. We are not yahoos, we are not knuckledragging idiots. We are very aware of our environment and we take pride in knowning that we do our part to look after it. I know i may get haters making stupid comments on this particular post, so im going to get in first, I dont care what you say, i will sleep tonight knowing that ive done my part in looking after tracks so the firies can get through, ive ripped skin off my knuckles dragging burnout stolen cars that has nothing to do with 4wdrivers, I dont care about your whinge.... And if you do feel that you have to whinge or have a comment that is negative please feel free to join the green party, at least that way I know what type of moron im dealing with! And before I end this post the Aboriginal people of the hunter used to burn off tracts of land during winter to reduce massive fire storms during summer. Thanks to the greens for putting up locked gates I know in some cases during the recent fires that the firies themselves had no access to put some fires out that could have been prevented from being turned into massive infernos. In my eyes that is not conservation its mass murder.... No living creature can escape a fire of that type of magnatude.... thumbs up there for that one!
