Hi shared this from my own wall. Hope its ok. One of the best catching up last Sunday was with Ketua Polis TTDI, Tuan Mohd Jamil Mohd Khalid WITH his police posse! They just finished their rounds and he saw my fb status and straight away meet up. As usual we talked about our families and some community concern issues in TTDI. The rest of abam police were just quiet. Ye lah, ada boss besar situ (literally and physically!!!!) Then Tuan Jamil look at me seriously and ask When are u planning some activities at the police barracks? Now, I have been dreaming of doing activities there. For your information, Balai Polis TTDI have one of the largest police barracks, but not all of them works in TTDI. So I always wanted to find a way that could gather them and the public so that we could know our neighbours. I told them if they would like it if we have a sukaneka rakyat played at their field during school holidays. During school holidays, around 30% balik kampong. But I cannot find other time now. This information actually triggered the other policeman to join in the chat. They suggested kukur kelapa competition and gunny sack run. I ask them now what about parking and is there enough area? They were giving all sorts of suggestion and affirmation. Wow, so they have been waiting for something like this. Next I told the team that I do wish to cultivate hidden cooking talents among the wives there. They can cook and sell their products on the event day. Its like a carnival if everyone cook something, earn extra money and who knows future business? We can have sort of a picnic theme. Just like the last time. I told some of my friends about it and its seems possuble. Just not sure about my dates only as my calender is now full. This sukaneka event is open to all public. All can go into the police compound on that day. Now, I do need help. But before that I would like to see suggestions under comments of what type of sukaneka rakyat or modern games that we could do there. Imagine these modern kids plays galah panjang. It would be so educational. The criteria for the games must be simple, fun and cheap!!! Read a bit in a while ok? My nane is Syed Azmi and this #syedjump exciting post is simply to cultivate good citizen police relationship in a less formal setting.
