Hi there from Slightly Twisted Productions Live music coming back to the Narooma Kinema. Getting closer to the big day. We really hope you can make it to one of these fantastic shows. The Narooma Kinema will be jumping with eight fantastic musicians performing the songs of Robert Johnson. Johnny Cass, Cass Eager, Don Hopkins, Adam Pringle, Kevin Bennett, Spencer Jones, Ben Edwards, George Brugmans live on stage in the beautiful Narooma Kinema. A fun filled night of music and old school fun as the ArtDeco Narooma Kinema comes alive with a collection of fantastic musicians. Cheers STP Band Members for Robert Johnson Show May 10th Narooma Kinema Kevin Bennett: A fantastic singer, guitarist and songwriter. Kevin has played with so many people over the years, Solo, Duo and Banks and now with the Robert Johnson Tribute Show. In 2011, Kevin also took home his second Golden Guitar, for vocal collaboration with Kasey Chambers. His first GoldenGuitar was for the Flood in 2006. A seasoned performer not to be missed. Don Hopkins: The second place winner in the 2012 International Blues Challenge Solo-Duo category in Memphis. This pretty much says it all. Don Hopkins along with Rob Grosser performed on Beale Street and wowed the judges with their songwriting and performance skills. Don has worked with harmonica legend Jim Conway for many years and Don’s influence is heard on all three Big Wheel albums. It will be a real treat to hear and see Don on Keyboard and singing the songs of Robert Johnson. Cass Eager: Cass been called ‘one of the best female singers in Australia’ by Richard Glover (ABC), and even Diesel claims she could ‘sing the phone book to you and you wouldn’t get bored’. Cass is a powerhouse that has travelled the world performing in such diverse locations as CBGB’s in New York to beachfront huts in Dili. She has hit the stage with acts including the likes of John Butler Trio, Cat Empire, Ash Grunwald, Jeff Lang, Diesel, Lior, Paul Kelly and Alex Lloyd. Her interpretation on these Robert Johnson songs will be an adventure on the female perspective. Adam Pringle: Adam is a guitar players guitar player. Having been lucky enough to see Adam play from the early years right up to this show, Tone is the key. Adan gas a tube ear and a blistering technique that can cross many styles in one sole. A no fuss musician who knows how to make a groove and play around it. Adam has played with so many musicians there isn’t space to list them all. He’s an in demand player and we are lucky enough to have him coming to the Narooma Kinema. Johnny Cass: Johnny is an all a rounder. Singer, songwriter and guitarist. He played with Simon Meli and the Widowbirds live and on their first tow releases and toured as support for Paul Weller and Tony Joe White. Johnny left the Widowbirds and went into the studio where he recorded “Tombstone Bullets”. This album hit the blues and roots charts and stayed in the top twenty for many months. The Tribute to Robert Johnson show is Johnny’s concept and rest assured it is in safe hands. Ben Edwards: Ben is a sought after bass player for some of the hottest guitar players in the country, such as Pete Cornelius, Jeremy Edwards, Ray Beadle and Bruce Mathiske. Ben has been also been called upon the amazing songstress and acclaimed performer Suzannah Espie. Ben has mastered many styles of music, Blues, Reggae, Rock and Roots. Laying down the groove for the rest of the band to bounce off. Ben’s blues heritage goes back to legendary band Whose Muddy Shoes. George Brugmans: George is the skins man. A great drummer who has played the beat for many of Australi’s finest. George played in Narooma with Ray Beadle in the Silver Dollars Band. George was also a member of Whose Muddy Shoes alone with Ben Edwards. George also plays with Jeremy Edwards and the Dust Radio Band. Spencer Jones: Possessing one of the greets rock voices in the country, Spencer Jones’s vocal power will blow your mind. An accomplished Singer/Songwriter. Spencer has spent most of his life behind a microphone fronting rock bands, touring and recording though out Europe, the U.K and Australia. Spencer’s list of credits include performances with Jimmy Page, Adrian Smith, Scott Gorham, Asia, Doborah Bonham, Kim Mazzelle, Mica Paris, Eddie Parise and Jimmy Barnes. Spencer has also performed on a swag of TV commercials.
