Hi valued Sensible Sentencing Trust members. Thanks for all of your support for the victim survivors of serious crimes through 2013. Your support has most definitely helped to make their journey a little easier to bear. Also, with your help and support, we have achieved major law changes that are slowly, but surely, making New Zealand safer for us, our children and future generations. Many of our survivors have said they would like to get together with others, to support and encourage each other, but mostly just to have some well deserved FUN!!! So we are holding the first of our annual survivors picnics at 12pm on the 19th of January at the Groynes in Belfast, Christchurch. Most of us survivors, just want some normality back in our lives. This will be a great chance for networking with like-minded people who have been there too. Perhaps we can learn from each others coping mechanisms. Look for the red balloons to find us at the Groynes. We have some fun activities planned, to help get everyone relaxed and enjoying themselves. Thanks to donations and memberships, we are able to provide much of the food for you, although we welcome any contributions of picnic or barbie type food, if you can. Please do not feel obligated to contribute food, if you are unable to this time. We will have plenty for all. Please BYO drinks though. We hope to see you at the picnic, and would greatly appreciate an RSVP so we can gauge numbers and have a better idea of how much food will be required. We look forward to hearing from you, and/or seeing you on the day.
