Higher Everyday for Saturday, December 13, 2014TITLE :HARD-WORKING HAND. TEXT:“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.” (Proverbs 10:4) Jack is a lazy student; he sleeps a lot and walks about aimlessly from one class or neighbourhood to another. He always puts aside assignments and loves to procrastinate. “I still have two days before the date of submission, he will say; I still have 10 more hours. The assignment is not much, I can finish it under an hour, and I will do it before the teacher comes around.” As you would expect, at the end of the session, Jack failed and had to repeat the class. A diligent youth will study, work, pray hard and maintain a timetable for personal study. God does not condone laziness and this is made clear in his word (Proverbs 20:4). As success-minded youngster, you should deny yourself pleasures and make necessary sacrifice in order to attain excellence. You should always go an extra mile. You can excel because God has promised reward and success to everyone who is hardworking. Challenge: Avoid procrastination: it is the thief of time. Prayer:Lord, help me to be diligent. Further Reading:(Proverbs 10:5). Quotation:Always go an extra mile
