Thakur term came to be used in 11th century its said Kahan Pal(1087-1088) was first recognized ruler of Kishtwar and belonged to Ujjain dynasty ,succeeded by Gandarb Sen and 45 other rulers in succession .Alkah was capital of Kishtwar in ancient time .it was 60 kos from Srinagar
