Holiday traditions changes over the years with my family. We use to open presents on Christmas Day the when my first grandson was born 22 years ago we start having our Christmas on Christmas Eve. That way he could be at home with his parents on Christmas Day. (Santa Claus had to come). Then as years passed and I saw how after the present were open and wrapping paper everywhere the kids were bored. Even with the presents they received. 30 minutes of joy and I was left to clean up the mess! So about 7 years ago I decided I was not going to do Christmas anymore. They though I had lost my mind. But I told them my plan. I have a New Years Eve tradition. Every year I still buy presents as usual, wrap them as usual and then make a Christmas tree with them. I will cook something the eat. They come over and we open presents enjoy ourselves and watch the New Year come in together. This year I am going to get hats and noise makers. So after Christmas is over my babies have one more day to look forward to. Believe me, they really enjoy it!
