Hollywood has distorted the image of the man in armor as being weak minded and even ineffective in combat, the hero always lightly armored and being able to dance about his opponent, if anything winning by his lightning moves and wit. Its not surprising then that due to directors lack of care for the true historical showcasing of armored melee combat, weve lost the actual combat moves and abilities to time. A couple of French researchers and historians poured over a lot of different textual material to put together this video, which is pretty badass :) Unless you were highly skilled or you had specific anti-armor weaponry like an axe or a hammer, you were shit out of luck when facing a fully decked out man-at-arms ;)
