Home now from my 24th Tamworth Festival - havent missed one since 91. The Bluegrass Breakfast shows were so much fun this year. Thank you, Aron Mclean (bass and cryptic gags), Montz Matsumoto (banjo and catfish), Paul Wookey (golden tonsils and Tony Rice), Philomena Carroll (beautiful songs and looking after Wook), Brian Loughlin (great sound and romantic breakfasts), Dan Kerin (hot licks and cool threads), Jody Bell (ripping mandolin and high lonesome), Jerry Salley ( amazing songs, singing and our eventual tears), Martin Louis (Scruggs, smiles and generosity), William Louis ( diggin the feel), Jeri Foreman (the tunes queen), Kat Mear ( I gotta learn that lick she just played), Pete Fidler (I love what your dobro just said), Kristy Lena (GOLDEN songbird!), Tavis List ( break our hearts, son), Roo Andrew Arcus ( good whiskey), Chloe Nott ( picks flyin, cool as a cucumber), Anita Webb ( WA old time fiddle - love it!), Taylor Pfeiffer ( the happiest picker in town), Kate Hindle (go get em, girl!), Steve Passfield and Mike Kerin (another flatpicker, Steve - lets write a song, man) Doug McIntyre (Tamworths adopted son) Mick Albeck (some smooth,precise fiddlin thanks) Kathryn Jones (sing us a beautiful song), Nigel Lever (Dr. Mando), Glen Skarret(ripping solo), Kasey Chambers ( honky tonk and make us all happy) Ruby Gilbert ( great songs - we all love Ruby!!), Therese Proust and her Hubby Prousty ( been funny for years - still funny!) Kiara Rodrigues (making us blue and happy at the SAME TIME), Andrew Richardson ( you took us to the last note, mate - thanks!), Thomas Burgess (Long Tall Texan - great to joke, drink and pick with ya) Dave Patterson and Wendy Phypers ( any time, you two - any time!) Davidson Brothers (what planet are these guys from - lets go there!) ............if Ive forgtotten anyone - and Im sure I have - I will edit this post as I think of them.
