Home safe and sound from SAFE-T (Safety Awareness for Film, - TopicsExpress

Home safe and sound from SAFE-T (Safety Awareness for Film, Entertainment, and Television) meeting. It was a marvelously informative event. I sincerely thank everyone that attended. Feel like Ive finally taken the first step to finding the sunlight again. After the Three Mile Island Accident the Nuclear Power Industry realized they needed a dedicated person to watch everything going on with the units, to see a problem well before it developed too far to stop another catastrophe. That position is now called the Shift Technical Advisor or STA. I would like to see the Film Industry develop a new position dedicated to helping keep Safety Awareness on Set First and Foremost on everyones mind. It is wrong to have safety as just one of dozens of other responsibilities on the shoulders of a single individual. It should be a concern for every single individual on set, with one person specifically tasked with reporting safety concerns to the proper authorities in each department. It is impossible for just one person to see everything but everyone on set should KNOW the name of the one person that can get the safety issue checked into by the proper department. I believe this is what CC was suggesting in the meeting and I believe he is 100% correct. Just my two cents ...
