Honest question to my musician friends. So I found out that last night neither my band or the second band got paid. The headliner got the pot which granted was only 75 bux. The sound guy did little to nothing but Mic the kick, and set up one vocal Mic, and apparently the sound wasnt that good. Im sure he got his $100. I understand the headliner was from northern Wisconsin and did set up the show, but I dont know how to feel about this. Both openers rocked our asses off for 45 minutes as well as brought a decent amount of our friends, only to give that money all to the headliner. Im broke, so yeah, 7 bux actually would have been nice. Im trying not to complain, but if you were in this predictiment, how would you feel? I didnt stay till the end so I wasnt there to say my piece. Im trying to look at this from both sides. I know playing live original music I dont expect much, but for the little effort the sound guy did, I know he got paid because there were more people that paid there to total 75 bux. Any thoughts would be helpful. Am I wrong in feeling this way? Again, keep in mind Im flat broke. Thanks.
