Honoured to announce a total of $29,550 in “Celebrate Canada” funding for the following organizations in South Shore – St. Margaret’s: Town of Lockeport - $7,770 (Lockeport, NS) New Germany Canada Day Committee - $7,500 (New Germany, NS) Region of Queens Municipality - $5,400 (Liverpool, NS) Canada Day on the LaHave Committee - $2,000 (Bridgewater, NS) Town of Clark’s Harbour - $2,000 (Clark’s Harbour, NS) Shelburne Association Supporting Inclusion - $1,050 (Shelburne, NS) Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #79 - $1,000 (New Ross, NS) Riverport District Fire Protection Commission - $1,000 (Riverport, NS) Queens Home for Special Care Society (Queens Manor) - $750 (Liverpool, NS) Riverport District Board of Trade – Riverport District Community Development Committee - $670 (Riverport, NS) Shoreham Village Senior Citizens Association - $260 (Chester, NS) Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #144 - $150 (Western Shore, NS) In 2014, the Government of Canada has funded more than 1,600 projects and activities nation-wide as part of “Celebrate Canada.” The purpose of the program is to celebrate Canada Day, as well as National Aboriginal Day, Saint Jean-Baptiste Day, and Canadian Multiculturalism Day.
