Hopa!!!!!!...... election’s day in Germany….a quick glimpse… it is barely 2 mins May I proceed? So let’s make it concise 1 – Germany divided into 299 constituencies, in each electoral district there is more or less 250.000 citizens. All in all there are approximately 62 million german, who are entitled to vote 2 –in the ballot paper there are 2 votes a- For the 1st vote there is a list of candidates. the candidate who won most of the votes is eligible to represent his constituency . that way each region will be - for sure - represented in the parliament b- For the 2nd vote one must vote for one of the parties that run for the election . In this way they define the new ideological- political stream and the majority that gonna lead Germany in the few years to come 3- in the parliament there are 598 deputies. The first 299 are elected via the 1st vote while the other half through the 2nd vote. i.e.: party “a” will have 40% of the 299 seats 4- the minimum threshold for the 2nd vote is 5%..... unless 3 candidates from the party “a” won in 3 electoral regions and the same party got only 4% then this 4% gonna be taken into account
