Hope Missions Update: Following is the most recent Missions Update: Michael Meyer and family to Mexico: -Bro. Meyer and family had a wonderful time in Irapuato watching over the Gospel Baptist Church and a mission work in a nearby ranch for missionary Lacey Wheeler. They had the opportunity to minister five times a week preaching and teaching. Bro. Meyer wrote Our prayers are that the people were encouraged to go on for the Lord in their spritual walk and service. -One of the ministries they were part of was preaching to men in an half way house a couple blocks from the church. Several received the Lord as their Saviour and some of them are doing a discipleship correspondence course. They hope that when the men leave the half way house they will visit the church and grow. -The Meyers will begin their furlough in the states in July. Pray for Bro. Meyer as he schedules meetings for new support needed. They plan to be in the southeast part of the U.S. in states where they have not presented their work before. -In the Spring, their oldest daugher Abigail was diagnosed with a form of epilepsy and they are in the process of treating it through medicine and faith in the Lord for wisdom and healing. They plan to have more tests done for her when they arrive in the states for furlough in July. Thrun family to Islands of Samoa: -The Thrun family arrived on the Island of Tutuila of American Samoa in March to their new home. The church they are taking over there is a small established work that is currently without a missionary or national pastor. -Their van, with all the things they shipped in it arrived in late March. With the help of another Brother, they were able to clear it through customs in four hours and the customs officer charged Bro. Thrun only 4% duty on the van instead of the normal 10%. This saved him about $650.00. He wrote, We are already making much use of it for the ministry here and for every day running around. -The island of Tutuila of American Samoa celebrated flag day in April and Bro. Thrun, his children, and a few youth from the church went out and passed out approximately 400 tracts at the stadium. Bro. Thrun was also able to witness to three policemen that were in uniform, but because they were on duty he could not keep them long, and left them each with a gospel tract. -Bro. Thrun and a few men went to the islands only prison for the first time and preached. They had a small group of ten men come to hear the preaching. -They had a three day VBS in June and are holding a Youth Rally in July. Shawn Bowman and family to Ireland: -Bro. Bowman writes that they have begun reaching out into the community streets as a church: Which is a real blessing to not be by myself! But the bigger blessing is to see a love for the Lord demonstrated by these dear people; who desire to see more come to the saving knowledge of Christ. It is a pleasure to stand nearby and listen to our church family speak of Gods love, quoting Scripture, and giving personal testimony. Please pray as they prepare to take the streets again in July. Harwoods to Alberta Canada: -Held their annual camp meeting in April and felt that God met with them in a mighty way. There were five people saved during this week. -The Harwoods are still praying about some property for their church. They are hoping and praying to be able to build a church building. Calgary real estate is very expensive, so it is a timely task. But our God can do exceedingly above all that we ask or think. So we are trusting Him to guide us to the location and property He has for us and in His timing. Please pray about the expenses they need there in Calgary for that land.
