Hopefully this is higher res and can be viewed easier. The World Next Door Festival was Sept. 4, 5, 6, 7, 1998. It was at the Forks in Winnipeg. It was held on the Labour Day weekend. There was a labour dispute with I believe NorthWest, so some of the acts didnt make it. I remember seeing Tito Puente, Rita Coolidge, NRBQ, Blue Rodeo, Rickie Scaggs & Kentucky Thunder. The next couple of years after this festival there were a couple of Muddy Rivers Festivals, lower key but with good artists. The Jayhawks, Omar & The Howlers, Otis Rush were at the Forks. Subsequent to that on the bank of the river on Tache, near St. Boniface Hospital David Lindley, Beausoliel, and of course the legendary Flatlanders. The great thing was Joe Ely & Jimmie Dale Gilmore from the Flatlanders jamming at Times Change(D) later that night. I asked Jimmy how he got into the Big Lebowski and he told me he knew the Coen Brothers.
