*** Horley Harriers Weekend Review 16/11/14*** Horley Harriers were represented far and wide on Saturday. Popular as ever, Tilgate saw Parkrun regulars Helen Baverstock 41:34, Fiona Montgomery 31:15, Alan McDonald 29:54, Gail Johnson 28:38 and Carole Mills 27:40 all racing. Despite some very wet conditions Gary Andrews 26:40 and Carlyn Angus 27:29 (10th place) flew the HH flag at Reigate Parkrun. 9th and 10th female places at the Banstead Parkrun were secured by our very own Sami Blackledge 24:21 and Lisa Roberjot 24:23. Their teamwork this weekend has been remarkable. Together with HH Coach Kerrie, they all worked together to record fantastic performances through helping and encouraging each other throughout the races. Continuing his fine form, Mark Greaves Grev recorded a superb course PB at the South Manchester Parkrun finishing 4th in 17:41. With conditions perfect for running the Brook Brighton 10km on Sunday saw PBs tumble. A large Horley Harriers contingent ran and supported each other on the flat route along Brighton seafront. Super performances included Jonathan Holland 42:25, Gary Andrews 46:17 (despite stopping to tie his shoelace), Wayne Greaves 47:43 Alan Macdonald 52:16, Wendy Perretta 53:25 and Doubec Levick 50:42. There were some huge PBs recorded including Claire Giles Pt 01:01:19 (1min PB), Carole Mills 55:20, Nicola Cox 53:25 (2.5min PB), Colette Ansell 52:26, Kerrie Edmonds 47:42, Lisa 47:34 (2.5min PB) and Sami 47:20 (2.5min PB). Even those that weren’t able to compete this weekend were in PB form with Martin Clear recording his first sub 50min 10km. Well done Harriers, see you tomorrow!
