Dawn’s presentation will cover equine nutrition, as well as topics concerning management of equine obesity, metabolic disease, insulin resistance and how to make supplements, make sense. Spooktacular – FUN Open Horse Show at the Douglas County Fairgrounds – Saturday, October 26th Bring your horse and costumes and be prepared to have a Hauntingly good time! Spooktacular kicks its heels up in the first of the Buckle and Award Series with the Hearts and Horses Show following on February 16th, 2014. The series is sponsored by the Umpqua Valley Chapter of the Oregon Dressage Society to benefit the Douglas County 4-H Horse Leaders to support 4-H horse members to help further their equine education and team efforts at Spring Horse Classic and National Horse Classic as well as on and off the horse clinics. Classes are $7 p/class or $60 p/horse & rider combo to enter as many classes as they want (excluding jackpots barrels). Pre-registration and entry fee’s must be received by October 19th to receive an additional $5 off each entry. Ribbons will be awarded to 5th place. English, Western, and Overall High Point awards will be given for this show. Buckles and English Awards for the two part series with Hearts and Horses show in February.
