Hospital diaries (here with family): Woman in the neighboring bed - TopicsExpress

Hospital diaries (here with family): Woman in the neighboring bed is fascinating. American citizen, married a Mexican man. 24 years married, 7 kids. He taught her Spanish, she taught him English. Her Spanish is perfect. Heres the sad part. She was rushed to Tucson via ambulance with no ID, no money and her husband, a Mexican national is in the process of getting his papers together and cannot cross the border. The social service at the hospital cannot provide her with vouchers or a ride back to the border and her family does not use credit cards (for a shuttle). Its a minimum of $100 to get her home. To make matters worse, she has no insurance to pay for a very pricey operation and recovery. What a mess.
