Hotel Comparison: Anza vs Hilton Gardens. I am typing this critique sitting at the desk of my room at the Anza Calabasas Hotel. I have never stayed here before this trip, but have stayed at the Hilton Gardens, Calabasas. Here are my thoughts. The Anza is right next door to the Sagebrush, so those of you who enjoy having a few cocktails, there is no need to get a cab. The hotel advertises they had a recent $6 million dollar renovation, and that is probably true. the rooms are comfortable, and are laid out with a nice contemporary design. My room faces the interior U Shaped interior driveway/ corridor away from the 101. Although I do not have any freeway noise (which would not be good I assume if my room was on the other side), there was some interior noise including at about 7am today from a delivery truck of some sort. The HIlton on the other hand is probably 1-1 1/2 miles away from sagebrush, but in my view the rooms are a little more plush, tand he hotel a lot more quiet. Putting aside the issue of the Anza being next door to the Sagebrush which frankly could be a deal point for some of us, I would rate on a scale from 1-5, with 5 being best, the Anza probably a 3, and the Hilton Gardens a 3.8. Both places will probably run you around $150 a night. If driving is o.k. either on your own or with a cab, opt for the HIlton……………If driving and cost is not an issue, stay at the 4 Seasons in Westlake.
