“How Can Can We Endure Unto The End” (Matthew 24:9-14) “In His teaching about the end times Jesus shared about the signs before His coming. In His conclusion He told His disciples that only those who endure unto the end would be saved. The question is, ‘how can we endure unto the end?’ Our text for today is found in the Gospel of Matthew chapter twenty-four and verses nine to fourteen; “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my names sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Napakahalaga na malaman natin kung papaano mananatili hanggang sa wakas dahil ito lamang ang makakaligtas ayon sa Salita ng ating Panginoong Hesus. Ngayon ang tanong, papaano tayo mananatili hanggang sa wakas? The Bible says in the book of 1 First Corinthians chapter thirteen and verses eight to thirteen; “Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” When we walk in love we will surely endure unto the end because love endures all things. “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1 Corinthinas 13:7) This is also the reason why Jesus endured the Cross and finishes His mission. Because of His love to us and to the Father He was able to endure unto the end with great joy. “Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2) Apostle Paul also endured unto the end because of his love to God and to the people. “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” (Acts 20:24) He also wrote to the Corinth people, “For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15) Marami ng natisod at di nakaabot hanggang sa katapusan dahil di sila lumakad sa pag-ibig. Subalit iyong mga tunay na umiibig sa Lord ay di natinag ng malalaking pagsubok kaya patuloy paring naglilingkod. Pag-ibig ang magdadala sa atin hanggang sa wakas, kaya dapat lumago tayo sa pag-ibig at lumakad ditto, upang di tayo matutumba sa anumang pagsubok, at tayo ay makakarating hanggang sa wakas. Matatapos natin ang anumang pinapagawa ng Lord sa atin katulad ni Paul kapag tayo ay lumakad sa pag-ibig. “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:6-8)
