How To Start your Energy Independence Through Solar Energy - TopicsExpress

How To Start your Energy Independence Through Solar Energy Investment People often are are at a lost and usually become victims to sweet talks (over promise, under deliver) of solar equipment sellers. So I decided to write a step by step guide so prospective buyers are properly guided. Here it is: The strategy of going solar can be achieved in 5 phases. Phase I This phase involves the purchase of an Offgrid Pure Sine Wave Inverter (you are free to choose brand but I carry I-Panda brand) that can handle the biggest motor starting load in your home and battery bank enough to service regular brown outs of the locality. Here, the UPS function automatically (for I-Panda), provides the power during power interruptions and the battery bank is sized accordingly based on the length of the outage. Once power returns, the battery bank is recharged automatically (by I-Panda) ready for the next brown-out. In this phase, expect no reductions in your utility grid bill. This is just like having a noiseless generator with ATS as the recharging energy also comes from the grid. Phase II You can program your acquisition of solar panels and battery bank capacity adding 6 hours load capacity say after three months. Here you will see your bill to go down a minimum of 25% because 6 hrs is 1/4 day. What happens is that your solar panels get free energy from the sun, provides your daytime power needs and charges your battery bank when there is sunlight. Phase III From your electric bill savings, accumulate the investment for another 6hrs panel and battery capacity. So this investment is coming from your savings. Phase IV The combined 12 hrs capacity now will halve your bill so the rate at which you accumulate the savings you generate for the next 6 hrs capacity addition will be shorter. Phase V Final purchase of the 6 hours capacity and full grid independence. The grid will now just be a backup to your operations and the bill you will pay will be minimal. Now for those who are in areas not serviced by the grid, the same Phases can be adopted but since the grid is not present to recharge batteries and provide daytime power to loads, what needs to be done is first just connect loads incrementally to the inverter as allowed by your solar and battery banks.
