How about all that rain this week?! Its nice to finally see the sun and warmer temperatures for the weekend. Tuesday 2-3 inches of rain fell in just an hour and continued to fall throughout the day. That sudden volume of water on the roads created major flooding and traffic delays. The majority of the state was under flash flood warning until Wednesday morning. Many people, especially in Northern Colorado, were evacuated from their cars and homes which were submerged in inches of rain fall. (See pics below.) In addition to traffic delays and road flooding, excessive rainfall in the higher elevations created a mudslide which closed a portion of I-70. The last week of July and first week of August have historically been the wettest in Colorado, so look out for more rain in the next few days.
